New Welcome Show at Magic Kingdom
At your request (doesn’t that make me sound like a big time blogger?), I got out of bed and went to the welcome show this morning. I only took Cyrus so that I could get around (relatively) easily.
We left from Wilderness Lodge and took the boat to the Contemporary and then walked to Magic Kingdom. That in itself was a very nice time. Highly recommend if you ever get the chance.
Tried to take video but…
I only just got my GoPro and I’m learning. It ended up being really shaky and bad. I hate videos like that when I find them on the internet so I’m not posting it, unless I get some software and edit it up for y’all. I’ll look at that later.
SO here are some pictures:
The Show was Anticlimactic
I did show the (somewhat terrible) video to Seth and he said, “Was that it?” I felt the same way. The characters basically came out, waved and went back in. The coolest thing was Fairy Godmother and her magic that she threw out from the castle. It lingered there for some time and I enjoyed it.
But the New Process is Definitely Better!
The crowd was thinned out, plenty of room. The stores were open and so were the restaurants. The snack carts were selling $3 coffee and hot chocolate and some breakfast-y type of items like muffins. I saw a guy enjoying a footlong hot dog from Casey’s at 8:30 in the morning and I say good for him. Don’t let society tell you what to eat at what time.
All in all, it was much more comfortable, safer and easier to move around. I bet they’ll put more into the show (at least I hope so), but for now we can just be happy that we can wait for the park opening with a Starbucks in one hand and a foot long hotdog in the other.
