We are about to head out and eat at Tangerine Cafe in Morocco in Epcot and then use our Frozen Ever After FastPasses so this will be quick, but I did want to let y’all know about a few updates that we’ve seen this trip:
- EVERY single person is needs to go through the metal detectors now. It was super quick and efficient and not an issue at all. There is a whole separate bag check and bank of metal detectors near Guest Relations (the one on the outside of the park) and it was actually faster than the way bag check used to be. There were more bag checkers.
- THE HORROR! We have been turned away from making substitutions on the Dining Plan. I didn’t want to say anything until I was sure. But we’re only had success one time. And we’ve asked a LOT. They are no longer allowing the drink to be switched for a snack item. This REALLY changes the values of the Dining Plan and we’re going to have to re-evaluate it for the future. We don’t drink soda for the most part so that drink will pretty much go to waste every time. Sad face. Also, when you turn in a QS for snacks, you only get 2 instead of three. SO NOT WORTH IT.
- This is more of a heads up than a change, but it caught me off guard so I wanted to mention it. If you’ve read my blog post about Rider Switch/Child Swap (HERE), you know that we use it to stretch out our FastPasses and end up being able to FastPass more rides that we would otherwise be able to. Well, today at Animal Kingdom, Beth and I both had a FP for Expedition Everest, but we were getting Rider Switch tickets anyway (to be able to give away to y’all.) Well, it worked like always the first time we went through- I went on, she stayed with Cy, I got the ticket. But then when she went to go on with her FP and asked for Rider Switch ticket the Cast Member said, “Do you both have FastPasses?” I didn’t know what the right answer was (because I used to have one, but now I don’t and why are you asking me this??????) so I just stood there with a not-so-bright look on my face. She then said, “Because if you both have FastPasses, you don’t need a ticket.” Ohhhhhhh. So I said, “I don’t have one.” (Which was technically true…. since I had already used it. And she said, “Oh, ok.” And she gave Beth the lanyard to give to the next Cast Member. Like I said, one time, one Cast Member, no other issues, but be ready in case you get asked that. If you follow my plan, you wouldn’t both have FastPasses for the same thing, so you could say you didn’t have one and it would be a-ok.
Has anyone ever been asked that/told that by a Cast Member when you’re using Rider Switch? Love to hear about it if so.
Off to Morrocco! And Frozen! Let it GOOOOOOOO! Let it Goooooooooo! (Picture Beth and I belting that as we ride…)
